I’m a local Miami street photographer who was looking for a project while going out on Ocean Drive for the weekends. Continually seeing these kids on bikes I then bought my own bike and began riding with them, of course documenting it along the way. This is a new style of street riding and many of the kids are athletes but are viewed differently. The feeling I get is exactly the feeling of skating in the 80’s when everyone hated you, the police kicked you out of any place you went and were looked at as a menace. I try to paint the joy, athleticism, resistance, and every day life these kids are having out on their bikes instead of being home in front of the tv.
